The Gloved Reader

Weird, Weird, Weird...

Those close to the Mortensen family know that I have often read to my children at night. A few know that I hate to touch certain types of surfaces — cardboard, for example. Well, we have this old Curious George book, and I simply cannot stand the feel of the cover. It's worse than cardboard! So, when Victoria wanted to read it, I simply had to do something to protect my hands from that awful cover! :-) Gretchen walked in, thought I was rather weird (most know that, already), and simply had to take a couple photos.

This is what happens when you reach 50. You have no shame. Not only was I strange enough to put on the gloves, I am posting the photo of it for all to see.

Just in case you wanted another angle of the "Gloved Reader!"

How did it take me so long to figure out that I could blame my hatred of cardboard on my father?

Hilarious! I'm laughing out loud. I had no idea you had such strong feelings about cardboard. You would never know it by how many times you have moved in your adult life! :) Love the pics! A
